Auto Ping Booster Pro 1.3.15: GA4 Reporting Connection Fix

PRODUCT UPDATE · VERSION 1.3.15

A focused fix for your GA4 reporting connection

Auto Ping Booster Pro 1.3.15 addresses a credential-saving issue that could prevent Google Analytics 4 reports from loading inside your WordPress dashboard. This update improves private-key handling and makes authentication errors easier to understand.

What was causing the reporting issue?

Some installations could display an access-token error when requesting GA4 reports. The credential-saving process could remove JSON escape characters more than once, damaging the newline formatting needed by the service-account private key.

Auto Ping Booster Pro 1.3.15: GA4 Reporting Connection Fix

OAuth Authorization Error: Failed to generate access token. Verify private key syntax.

The previous error message did not distinguish between a damaged key, a server connection problem, and a rejected authentication request. That made it harder to identify the next step.

What changed in version 1.3.15?

Corrected credential saving

The GA4 settings now preserve JSON escape characters instead of removing them again during option sanitization. Dashboard credential submissions also use the existing protected save handler without a second save during initialization.

Recovery for affected private keys

The update attempts to recover the specific newline damage caused by the previous save routine. If the saved key cannot be read, the dashboard asks you to paste the complete original service-account JSON again.

Clearer authentication diagnostics

Reporting errors now distinguish unavailable OpenSSL support, unreadable private keys, signing failures, network problems, and rejected token requests. The troubleshooting message also explains when property access needs attention and when credentials need to be corrected.

Your tracking IDs can stay the same.
This fix concerns the reporting connection inside APB Pro. It does not require changing your GA4 Measurement ID or GTM Container ID. Website event collection and dashboard report retrieval are separate parts of the setup.

What to do after updating

  1. Install the updated Auto Ping Booster Pro package.
  2. Open the plugin’s GA4 reporting dashboard.
  3. Click Clear Cache & Test Connection.
  4. If a private-key error remains, paste the complete contents of your original service-account JSON file, save, and test again.
  5. If the error identifies a GA4 property permission problem, confirm that the service account has Viewer access to the intended property.

Keep your service-account JSON private. When requesting help, share the error message without including your private key.
